New for 2009, Buzz buzz buzz

In the la Posada area on the beachfront, Della Regazzi makes dinner into theater.

Downtown near Nicholas Bravo is the restaurant posada Il Rustico with the greatest pizza in La Paz.

In the art district of Bellasario Dominguez, Thailand and India cuisines meet tabletop at Fussion.

The Tres Virgenes reopens across the street from its former location with new owners, the former Chef and managing partner.

Opening soon in the location vacated by the Tres Virgenes is an art gallery with wine called Caballete and Uba, or Easel and Grape.

The Estancia Uruguaya relocates to the opposite end of town at Revolucion and Torre Iglesia.

Placeres Argentina wins raves for its slow cooked tenderloin fillet on the west part of town, Mexico and Urbana Normal.

Captain Tony's on Madero between Ocampo and Bravo expands its hamburger and taco menu to include anything that can be grilled over charcoal.

That's whats making the buzz this season, who will go the distance?

Dalle Regazze - enjoyed the atmosphere and the 3 charming ladies. Food was okay. Will try again and will order family style next time.

il Rustico - our favorite La Paz pizza.

Tres Virgenes - went 3 times to old location and decided it was too expensive and not that great of food.

Placeres Argintinos - on our list.

Captain Tony's - pretty good burger.

il rustico: did not care for their pizza.

placeres argentinos: ok but nothing special.

estancia uruguaya: good beef, but they need to improve their sides.

caprichos: not good

aljibe: same as above

tres virgines: still the best

azul marino: my second favorite

buffalo: expensive, bad service, but good steaks and lpaz best wine cellar

rancho viejo: worst tacos ever

bismarkcito: bad food, good location

tacos la paz on marquez de leon: best seafood tacos in town.

Placeres Argentinos serves very good pastas that are made on site, but the beef was disappointing the night we went, and I make better chimichurri. To be more authentic, I'd like to see some bife de chorizo, asado de tira, and chorizos on the menu. I also would have liked to have had a salad tossed with an oil and vinegar dressing. The owner seemed very nice and I hope she makes the necessary adjustments to be successful.
