Things are heating up. Literally and figuratively

Summer is here. Actually, it felt like it arrived before memorial day. The summer solstice was a non event, celebrated only by those who rejoice in the fact that now the days will be getting mercifully shorter. Everyone is on hurricane watch.
In our neighborhood, we laugh in the face of heat as we await the grand opening celebrations of three new eateries within 100 yards of not only each other, but of us as well. From south to north, we have Salsa Brava cantina and tapas, then the Agave Grill and sharing the same building, Kochi Kochi BBQ.

Honestly, the rapidity with which restaurants and eateries began closing since my last post led me to stop posting until the economy improved to the point where new places stayed open longer than 90 days. But I'll try to point out some new places that have a real chance of weathering the storms, in the next few weeks. Stay tuned, and in the meantime, avoid street food, especially the days after a rain episode. Unless you like munching on airborne fecal spores. «sorry if that offends anyone»

About Me

My photo
La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico
Before gaining control of my life, I created pastries for some cool places in California: San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, Brix Restaurant in Napa and The Lodge in Sonoma. Now I am the chef/owner of Pan D' Les bakery in La Paz. My personal favorite is the Multigrano loaf, full of crunchy seeds and a nice chewy crust.
